Prepositions (प्रेपोझिशन्झ) - शब्दयोगी अव्यये
नामापूर्वी किंवा सर्वनामापूर्वी वापरलेल्या ठिकाण, दिशा, वेळ इत्यादी दाखवणाऱ्या शब्दांना किंवा शब्दगटांना Prepositions(शब्दयोगी अव्यये) म्हणतात.
(1) in: (i) in the field - शेतांत. (ii) in my bag माझ्या थैलीत.
(2) on: (i) on the table - टेबलावर. (ii) on the roof - छपरावर.
(3) at: (i) at the school - शाळेत. (ii) at 5 o'clock - पाच वाजता.
(4) of: (i) of the branch - फांदीचा. (ii) of the body - शरीराचा.
(5) from: (i) from my house - माझ्या घरापासून. (ii) from April - एप्रिलपासून.
(6)to: (i) to the shop - दुकानाकडे. (ii) to her house - तिच्या घराकडे.
(7) into: (i) into the jungle - जंगलामध्ये. (ii) into the well - विहिरीच्या आतमध्ये.
(8) out of: (i) out of the class - वर्गाबाहेर. (ii) out of water – पाण्याच्या बाहेर.
